How it Works (Congressional Office)

Many Congressional constituents can benefit from an expungement/ sealing of eligible conviction and non-conviction data from the National Crime Information Center as well as the removal of criminal charges and the conversion to an alternative sentence by the Pilchuck Tribal Court.

For an expungement the first thing you’ll need to do is identify if your constituent is eligible for an expungement/sealing of records.  An eligible expungement/sealing of records is not a class a felony or sex crime, is does not subject to the payment of fine or completion of probation.

Once you’ve established that your constituent is eligible for an expungement/sealing of records you’ll need to provide us with a signed application form. You can sign it on behalf of your client or have your client sign it. We accept electronic signatures.

Next you will need to provide a copy of your constituent’s National Crime Information Center’s background check identifying the item needing to be expunged.

We would like a support letter made on your office letterhead confirming the public benefit that your constituent expunging/sealing of records will provide and requesting that the US District court clerk directly provide you with a certified copy of your client’s new National Crime Information Background Center check.

We constitute service at no charge.  Our process takes 4 to 6 weeks.

For an alternative sentence

First establish that your constituent is eligible for an alternative sentence.  We do not provide alternative sentence for class 3 felonies or sex crimes.

Next we need a signed copy of our application form your constituent requesting Pilchuck Tribal court jurisdiction, pleading no contest to the charge and agree to complete an alternative sentence of community service and self improvement.

We need a copy of your constituent’s charging document.

We need a support letter made on your agency letterhead confirming the public benefit that your constituent ‘s alternative sentence will provide and requesting that the US District court clerk directly provide you with a certified copy of your client’s new National Crime Information Background Center check, identifying that your constituent’s charge as been converted to an alternative sentence.

Our process takes 1 to 2 weeks.
